    Did you know?

Did you know that May is Brain Cancer Awareness month? Each May, I change my personal Facebook picture to a gray ribbon in memory/honor of those who have battled brain tumors. It's a small thing, but it serves as a reminder of those special warriors. In the past, I have created cards in memory of them, as well as many others who have left us too soon due to that dreaded disease. But since it had been a while since I had added to the HOPE series of cards, I felt inspired this

    Checking in ...

Well, another two weeks (plus) has passed without a blog post. In fact, not only have I not posted here, I've done nothing to the other half of my kitchen cabinets either! So, I can't even use that as an excuse for not blogging. However, I did go out of town for almost a week of that time. We traveled down to our old home state of Georgia to visit family and friends. Enjoyed the visit, but good to be back home, enjoying the beautiful flowers during my morning walks along our

    This & that

So, it's been over two weeks since my last post. I'm really not very good at this blogging thing! I'd much rather be designing something than writing. Fact is, I haven't done much of either the past couple of weeks! It's been a bit busy around here running errands, cleaning house and, in addition, I've taken on a new project ... painting my kitchen cabinets. We moved into a townhome late last summer and I've been wanting to tackle those cabinets for a while now. I managed to

    Thank you cards

Definition of THANKS from Merriam-Webster : kindly or grateful thoughts : gratitude With kind thoughts and gratitude to all of you who have encouraged and supported me and my little business throughout the last 10 years! As I have time, I'm updating the "Products" page of my website with new items that are available to order online. Scripture note cards were added a couple of weeks ago, and this week I've added "thank you" note cards. Note cards have been a popular seller

    Keeping memories alive

When someone you love dies, do you ever worry that maybe you’ll forget things about them ... what they look like, their smile, the sound of their voice? Maybe that’s not something you worry about. But for me, knowing just how bad my memory is, it does cross my mind from time to time. What can I do to keep memories alive? One of the things I have done to remember and honor the passing of some special people in my life is creating cards in their memory. Particularly those who h

    Luck of the Irish

Since tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd share a couple of Irish designs and maybe even a few photos from our once-in-a-lifetime 2012 trip to Ireland. One of my favorite St. Patrick's Day cards has one of my favorite paintings on the front. This painting was inspired by a photo of a friend's granddaughter playing in a flower patch. The front reads, "Finding a great friend is like looking for a four leaf clover" and the inside verse reads, "Boy, did I get lucky! Happ

    Wrapping up the month

Well, February is over and, according to our meteorologist, it was our warmest February on record! The flowers and trees all around have been fooled into thinking it was Spring and beautiful blooms are everywhere. As a result, my spring designs continue . . . On Monday, I uploaded this birthday card to my Simply Put by Robin store at Greeting Card Universe. You may recognize the flowers from last week's printable. I was excited to get notification on Wednesday that the card w

    Hello, it's me

Ok, so I haven't blogged in a long, long time. This is not my strength. I'm more of a "visual" person than a writer. My former business partner, Kim was the writer (boy, do I miss her). But now that I'm officially not working, at least not at what you'd call a "real" job, I'm thinking that I need to focus on building my online businesses and part of that is, apparently, blogging. So staring at this blank page I'm wondering . . . what should I write about for my first blog on
